About Us

Himbleton RC Helicopter club is a small group of Radio Controlled model Helicopter fanatics that meet at the field on a Sunday mornings, 10:00am onwards come rain, shine or snow. The history of the club goes back some 20 years with some of the founder members claiming to have been flying model RC helicopters even before the concept of rotary flight was a twinkle in the eye of Leonardo da Vinci.

We have a broad range of experience and flying skills at the field; from raw beginners taking their first flights with training gear to fully sponsored 3D flyers just embarking on their competitive careers. We also have technical wizards who can set-up any model (well most!) and freely offer their time and experience to get others flying.

You will find most types of models being flown at the field, electric, internal combustion and turbine, from the very small to 90 size models. Not surprisingly you will find all the popular brands, Align, Avant, JR, Miniature Aircraft, Outrage, Thunder Tiger (Raptors) all represented at the field, and if we don’t have one we probably know somebody who has.

We also have a couple of BMFA examiners who can help any aspiring flyer through the ‘A’ and ‘B’ phases of the BMFA certification scheme.

Last and probably most importantly, you’ll find a very warm welcome, plenty of support and great banter!
